Your exam scores and grades will be posted on https://secure.fas.rutgers.edu/apps/gradebook/.

Class regulations: There are certain expectations that I have concerning students who take my courses. My experience is that classes function best when students abide by these expectations. They are:

  • You are expected to come to class on time. I will not allow students to walk into class late. This can be very distracting. Also, if you come to class, you are expected to stay for the entire class period unless you seek permission beforehand. Students who violate these rules will initially be given a warning. The second violation will result in a 5 point deduction in a test, each subsequent violation will result in dropping a letter grade.
  • If you attend class, you are expected to pay attention to the lecture and discussion. In large classes students feel anonymous and there is a tendency to start conversations with their friends. Again, this can be very distracting and you will be penalized for talking during class. Also, you should turn off your cell phones.
  • Make-up exams must be arranged in advance with the professor.
  • There will be no extra credit allowed.
  • While I do not take attendance, I think that it will be very difficult for a student to do well in the course if he/she misses a lot of classes. The reason is that I test heavily from class material and in many chapters the class discussion goes beyond the readings.
  • If you have any questions about a grade on a test, please feel free to see me within two weeks of the day the grades are handed out. This includes final grades.
